I am an experienced coach and consultant with 30+ years experience, working across a range of roles and industries, with a wide range of people.
My initial career was in finance, then business consulting, with the last 15+ years in Personal Development through coaching and consulting. Essentially I have transitioned from a focus on numbers to a focus on people.
I always say I didn't set out to be in Coaching and Personal Development but it found me. People have always interested me, what makes them tick or indeed what doesn't. I started to formally study people, what drives their thinking, feelings, behaviours and outcomes about 20 years ago when I took a business practitioner course in NLP (aka Neuro Linguistic Programming - a way of changing someone's thoughts and behaviours to help them achieve desired outcomes). I wanted to work more completely with the business owners who I was working with at the time. It was that work advising them that brought it home to me that it was as much their psychology as their business services or strategies that brought them success or failure.
That interest in people and performance developed and I went on to training in coaching, personality traits, mediation and organisational psychology.
While I was working in business consulting, I was getting requests for broader coaching and starting personal development coaching with people under the name Getbusyliving. I have coached hundreds of people over the last 20 years.
Today I work with individuals, entrepreneurs, leaders and teams with Personal Development and Growth at the heart of everything I do, to help people perform at higher levels in their life, work and businesses.
More personally, I've a busy family life (thankfully), with four daughters which myself and my wife are trying to raise as rounded, happy and independent people, and I can't forget our dog, which my daughters promised faithfully they would look after :-)
My other interests are coaching girls GAA teams and some voluntary work judging student enterprise competitions.
I've failed as much as I've succeeded and no doubt that will continue but I bring those lessons, along with my education and a huge amount of will, heart and passion to the people that I work with.
In a nutshell as a coach, all I do is to try to shine a light on what's possible for them when I strip away all the stories they are telling themselves about why they can't be, do or have more.
I'd love the opportunity to help you see all that you can be too.
